[ There may be an alarming delay to her response. Not out of her dodging the question, but because really... she was taking a nap. She'd been so busy lately that today she decided it was just time to sleep a little...

Luckily, she had heard the vibration close to her, and she shifted a little. Whoever it was could wait just a little, she wanted to sleep another thirty minutes...

The issue was as soon as she woke up, she wasn't exactly... sure what this meant. The person who harassed her? ]

[ Sorry ryooks, but there's no time to wait when you're panicking and furious and need to get to the bottom of things ASAP. ]

[ That got her wide awake. Of course, she had warned everyone that she received a warning to not pursue Arabella, and the only ones who really took notice were the new magi, the ones who didn't know who Arabella was and were already suffering for what they had done.

Taiga didn't know. In fact, more than anyone, she was the one who needed to be the least aware of it. It was selfish for sure considering how Taiga had saved her, but what was the point of anything she was doing if she went off to fight whoever came along?

More importantly, who told her? Ryoko tried to think of who, and immediately went to check Sinewave-- of course. Of course. He wasn't obtuse, it was the same kind of language he used to talk down to everyone, and now Taiga was asking about this.

Now what? ]

A different magi who messaged me about meeting Arabella.

[ She was furious. Ryoko always had to try and act like it wasn't important for her to know these things, and while she'll likely kick herself later on for not realising something was wrong in the first place... they had both been busier. ]

[ Which is why she wishes other magi weren't talking about it. She hadn't received another text since then, and everything seemed to die out. Arabella didn't show up, and Taiga stayed safe. The others didn't look for her, and Taiga stayed safe.

...It's because you're a magi too. That was the point, wasn't it? ]

[ Not over the phone. ]

[ Truth be told, she was already on her way, which is why it isn't long before Ryoko receives a knock on her door.

Don't yell at her, Taiga. It's fine. ]

[ It takes a moment before Ryoko answers. She changed, using her magic to clean herself up a little and put on something a little better, a long sleeved blouse and pants.

When she opens the door, she clearly doesn't look thrilled, but is trying to keep herself from looking nervous. Her heart might be beating out of its chest, but she couldn't hide this. Not anymore. ]

Come in.

[ What does she even say, once she's in? Led into the usual living room, as Ryoko heads over to sit back down on the couch, picking up the green plush dog, looking down at it. ]

...Arabella-san-- [ She pauses almost immediately. "Kami hates that name u kno". But, that was the name everyone else knew. So, it'd have to be the one that was used. ]

Arabella-san saved me before. I was surrounded by those monsters in the other city, and she came and kept me safe. A few days after that, I received a message warning me and everyone else to stay away from her. There wasn't a name attached, just... a warning.

[ Taiga moves to sit next to her, her posture stiff but she's taking deep breaths to at least try and calm herself down. It's fine. There had to be a good reason that Ryoko was being secretive, and she trusted her. That's what friends did. They trusted each other to be honest, and to take care of each other. So... there was a good reason. That makes it alright.

It doesn't change the frustration on her face.

Just a warning? Taiga sets her jaw--how could a warning be so bad that Ryoko had to hide it? ]

So you call them on their bluff and tell them to piss the fuck off.

[ Ryoko responds with a pointed look. She herself was trying not to be furious-- she was upset that this came out in the first place, and that kind of thought annoyed her more than it should have. ]

I wasn't going to do that. The last time we called anyone out on their bluff, magi died. If someone threatens us, I'm not going to ignore it or go out of my way to make them mad.

[ She lets out a huff, leaning back into the couch cushions and running a hand through her hair. That's right. She shouldn't be so rash. It doesn't change the fact that she's annoyed, but that wasn't the real problem.

Her expression grows distance, softening. ]

Why... didn't you just tell me when it happened?

[ The answer was obvious. Ryoko hesitated, as if she were trying to process what it was. The idea that they wouldn't just come after anyone else but would target Taiga directly was too much for her, and it'd either make her madder that she didn't let her know, or would... at worst, go out and try to find them herself.

She felt terrible. Taiga did her best to protect her, and here she was trying to do her best to stop the problem before it even started. ]

...I didn't want you to do anything rash. I know you want to keep me safe, so I didn't... I didn't want you to try to lash out at anyone because someone threatened us.

I wouldn't have done anything stupid!

[ She blurts it out, then instantly regrets saying it. That was a lie, for sure. She knows that she'd have done something stupid, maybe gone around on the mirrors demanding to know who it was, or even gone out to try and find them herself. ]

...I...... I would have, actually. So, I guess... it's fine. [ Taiga thinks for a moment, then adds: ] I'm not mad at you.

But if they were to hurt you... how could I have helped, if I didn't even know what to worry about?

[ Taiga had already been on Sinewave, ordering someone, anyone to give her details. Who'd know what would've happened if she hadn't answered and she had let this linger. Taiga would get more and more frustrated and furious until she did take to the streets, if not to find the magi, then to find Arabella to incur their wrath and draw them out.

Ryoko fixed her eyes on the stuffed animal, gripping on tightly. ]

I don't even know what we're worrying about now. I don't know who it was or how dangerous they are, but I don't want you or anyone else to get hurt. Not because I needed someone else's help just once.

[ It's what led to her doing what she was doing. She was slow in placing the stuffed animal back down, hesitant to look Taiga in her eye. ]
